About the Admin

The admin of this blog actually IS a sixteen-year-old feminist. She believes in the core ideology of feminism and intersectionality. She’s active in the LGBTQ community, and side-eyes most radical feminists.

Back in first person narration (because damn third person sounds pretentious), I guess I will introduce myself a little bit - or rather, introduce things that have shaped my perspective over the years.

I am Chinese, and a first generation immigrant. That means I attended school in China, witnessed some pretty obvious sexism and efforts to end it, and I immigrated to Canada five years ago with no conscious idea of racism and virtually no knowledge of sex, sexuality, and gender.

When I first came to Canada, I was fortunate. I was in a class with no other Asian people, but all the kids were super kind, as was the teacher. I experienced some racism, but it was nothing drastic, for I had excellent friends.

I suppose this won’t be a sufficiently unwarranted section of self-importance until I actually talk about who I am.

I’m queer and sex positive. I identify as a feminist and egalitarian. I’m Chinese, as you probably gathered. I founded a small non-profit organisation to help new immigrant kids a year ago, and I tutor and organise field trips and write grant proposals despite not knowing what the everloving hell I’m doing. I’m an all-around artsy person. I love to draw, sing, act, shop, design, and write. I’m fascinated by culture. I love people who are witty and funny, as those are traits I only occasionally know how to replicate. I’m fond of escapist and absurd fiction, and nothing delights me more than a few episodes of Glee and subsequently analysing the shit out of it. I usually keep my fannish tendencies on my personal blog.

My English teacher, bless her soul, always told us the importance of a proper conclusion. However, I seem to be incapable of doing that outside of structured essays. Therefore, please take a look around, feel free to strike up some conversations and/or debates with me, and even send me anon hate. I’m so new that I’m glad I get messages at all, but my tolerance will probably wane substantially in the future.

This is my secondary blog where I post mostly sj-related things. I have a primary blog with a bunch of Glee shit on it, and I somehow recently became an admin for permutationofninjas (which you should totally check out). I’m also an admin for thisismittromneyprivilege. It’s not meant to be taken completely seriously, but it’s all in good fun.
